Apologies…
…for being a useless blogger recently. I have been entirely distracted by actually having a life for once, which as I’m usually so obsessed with work during term time, is quite a rare thing!
I will make an effort to post the final part about my ball dress (its half written) later today/tomorrow. I also owe you another post about my tailoring course last week and perhaps one about the couple of purchases I’ve made.
Its been a hectic few weeks, I took over my mum’s shop for the week while she was off on holiday. I have never worked in a fashion retail position before and was thrown in at the deep end, being manager! Which was quite scary but went really well.
Then I had my tailoring course last week which was also really good but exhausting. Learnt a lot and even though the half jacket I made may not be the neatest made thing in the world, its all about practice and the main fact is that I now know how to do it. Its very exciting.
And this week I’m in London without anything to do. As I’m unemployed, and have various things going on sporadically throughout the summer, making me pretty undesirable to employ. So I need to use this time wisely. I need to practice my tailoring techniques, practice my illustration, and make myself some clothes for general construction practice. I’m off on holiday in a couple of weeks, I walked round every shop in Bluewater yesterday, with money in my pocket and only bought two things. So I need to try and make some bits for my holiday instead. Maybe just a couple of pretty summery cotton dresses, or a cropped jacket for the evening or something. So I shall make an effort to post as I do things instead of several weeks after!
I also need to go to the gym, its been several years since I last stepped out on a beach in a bikini, and I’m really not looking forward to it!

Kate Moss Dress In The Wild
Spotted a young lady wearing the white Kate Moss dress at my boyfriends ball on Friday night.

(Blog about the completion of my dress will appear soon)
Dressing Up For The Supermarket
I always say that I need to make more effort with the way I dress. I have loads of lovely clothes, but I am just so lazy. I love my jeans and live in them and a vest top most of the time.
So when I got up today and it was actually sunny for the first time in ages (it won’t last) I thought I’d put on my new shirtdress to go shopping.
I bought the shirtdress and another black shirt from Primark on Friday morning. I can’t decide if it actually is a shirtdress or if its a long shirt as its quite a strange length, but I’m liking it.

Worn with Black Leggings from NewLook, Black Vest Top from Topshop, & Yellow Belt, vintage.
